5 years on – Peter Hill reflects on leadership lessons
10/08/2023
Contemporary leaders are faced with constant change, and at times this is dramatic, creating a sense of chaos.
Intentional ‘chaos’ is built into our programs to allow participants to understand their behaviour during these times of uncertainty, and how they can best lead during chaotic times.
We recently caught up with Outback Initiatives Alumni Peter Hill, reflecting on his participation in the Kimberley Leadership Program five years ago.
As a former Army Officer & Deputy Superintendent of Police, Peter has been extensively trained and is experienced in leadership in challenging and chaotic circumstances. Peter joined the Outback Initiatives Kimberley Leadership program with an open mind to explore different leadership styles.
In the below video, Peter shares how the Outback Initiatives program offers a profoundly human element to leadership, which he found highly beneficial in the leadership position he later filled in Mogadishu, Somalia.
Peter closes his message with that he is a far more enriched person as a consequence of the experience he had on the Kimberley Leadership program as he continues to consult for industries within complex and volatile environments.
