Our unique outdoor experiences combine adventure with personal and professional development, creating a life-changing experience that will awaken your passion and renew your drive to succeed.
OUR PROGRAMS
Our programs are designed to give you a physically challenging, intellectually stimulating and emotionally rewarding experience that changes how you see yourself and engage with others. You will gain an understanding of who you are, what has held you back, and how to leverage your strengths to fulfil your goals.
Your journey begins in one of many stunning and remote locations throughout Australia and your days will be filled with discovery activities that delight and challenge the senses. You come to know people from diverse backgrounds on a level deeper than you thought possible for such as short period of time. Together, you will make the transformation from guarded strangers to a trusted team with confident leadership skills and a new-found respect for each person’s potential.
INDIVIDUAL OUTCOMES
- Understand how your leadership style impacts others
- Learn how to effectively manage conflict
- Make decisions in ambiguous situations
- Develop resilience and adapt to changing circumstances
- Learn how to influence others authentically and with integrity
- Manage morale and team cohesion under pressure
- Harness diversity to increase effectiveness
- Learn how to create highly successful and motivated teams
- Gain CLARITY on where you are now in order to work out how to get where you want to be
THE OUTBACK INITIATIVES PROCESS
Our programs for solo participants are generally for groups of 14-28. For the majority of the program, you will be divided into smaller teams of 6-8. Each team is led by a facilitator experienced in leadership development and team building.
Through consequence-based activities, teams learn the practical aspects of working with and leading people, as well as making decisions with limited time, information and resources. Every activity is followed by a debrief that addresses lessons learned and opportunities for improvement. Every individual completes a behavioural profile assessment and personal action plan to evaluate their own strengths, weaknesses and how they perform under pressure.
Typical physical group activities include walking, abseiling, caving and kayaking. We encourage participation in all physical activities, though it is “challenge by choice.” Arrangements can be made to accommodate special needs, such special dietary restrictions and medical conditions. You will be in safe environments and accompanied by experienced staff trained in senior and mental health first aid at all times.
