Dean Jard

PROGRAM SUPPORT, LOGISTICS & FACILITATOR
Dean has come a long way on his Outback Initiatives journey. He first arrived as a wide eyed participant on the 2016 Kimberley Adventure Program and was inspired to help others see their own leadership potential. Dean was invited to come back firstly to join the Support and Logistics Crew (who make sure that all Outback Initiatives programs run so smoothly) then to train to be a OI Facilitator. Dean completed his OI Facilitator training course in 2017 and has since joined the talented team of Outback Initiatives facilitators, helping others to realise and hone their own leadership skills.
Dean is a Gadigal, Bidjigal, Dhurag and Yuin man from South East NSW. Born in Rockhampton QLD, Dean has lived in Canberra most of his life and is now considered an Elder in his community. Dean has spent over two decades working for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the ACT and is now specialising in his own consultancy business, facilitating programs including leadership, social and emotional wellbeing and at-risk youth diversionary programs.
