Rob feels extremely fortunate and privileged to be doing what he is doing having been able to take advantage of some incredible opportunities offered to him as an Adventure Guide. In the last few years he has been honoured to work on a number of diverse projects including that of Facilitator with the Gurkha Croc Rock Program developed by OI .This has taken him to some of the Kimberley’s most remote and spectacular country. His experience as a Lead Instructor with the Bear Grylls Survival Academy Australia certainly contributed to him having the necessary skills to survive in such a harsh and challenging environment. He has also been in demand by a number of Media and Outdoor Adventure outlets that have seen him work on a wide variety of projects that have required his Specialist Outdoor skills. This includes engagements for Channel’s 7 , 9 and SBS, PlayStation, Glenworth Valley , K7 Adventures ,and Hyundai to name but a few. These roles have seen Rob Instructing in such diverse activities as Kayaking, Abseiling, Climbing, Caving, Mountain Biking, Off Track Remote Area Survival and Navigation. He has also gained exposure to Guiding in the Alpine environment in addition to his recreational experience that has seen him undertake numerous multi day Remote Area Ski Trips in the Australian Alps. Rob has also completed a successful ascent of Mt Cook in New Zealand! Having recently Facilitated and advised on a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Adventurous Journey, his next personnel AJ sees him jumping on an Adventure Motorcycle for 7 days of route finding for a much bigger trip – watch this space.
With his extensive experience, Technical Qualifications and gregarious personality Rob is a wonderful asset to the OI Team.
