Outdoor Facilitator Training

Outdoor Facilitator Training

Experience 5 challenging and rewarding days in beautiful Canberra learning our unique methdology first hand and understanding how we facilitate growth with individuals, teams and stakeholder groups in such a short period of time.

12 - 16 february 2018 • canberra

New and existing facilitators are invited to join this 5-day experiential learning program led by OI founder Colin Hendrie, a former Rhodesian army officer and Omani special forces squadron commander who grew up in the bushlands of Zimbabwe.

The focus will be on how to structure outdoor experiential activities, draw out learnings through metaphors, and debrief to achieve certain outcomes.

You will experience our program as a participant engaging in physical group activities: caving, abseiling, kayaking and team building activities. We will introduce our program activities and leadership models, our unique debriefing process, situational leadership case studies, and training on behavioural change, cultural diversity and conflict management.

Prior to the program, you will complete a DISC behavioural profile assessment that summarises your natural inclination for how you communicate and lead under pressure.

You will have the opportunity to be coached through facilitating groups in outdoor environments over 2 individual coaching sessions. An assessment will be made at the end of the program to determine your eligibility and if successful, you will be able to facilitate directly on future OI programs.
